Words
Canteen is published twice each year. We accept original fiction, nonfiction, and poetry of up to 4,000 words. We are also interested in essays and commentary that relate to our Mission Statement by focusing on the creative process. Due to our sporadically long response time, we encourage simultaneous submissions.

Images
We are interested in a variety of media, including photographs, drawings, paintings, sculpture, video stills, and digital art. Submissions should be sent as links, rather than files, though files can be uploaded if links aren't available. If your work is accepted, you will need to provide high-resolution JPEGs (at least 2400x1800) for publication.

To submit photos for our photography contest, please first read the full rules and regulations, and then upload 5 to 8 images individually (separately) or as a single zip file containing 5 to 8 images.

Compensation
Canteen does not normally pay contributors, but we do offer our published contributors three advance copies of the issue in which their work appears.
