Our judges narrowed 230 submissions down to 26. These 26 will be judged live on February 21 in New York City. This event will be also be live-streamed. Audience members, both in person and online, can prod the judges with questions as they make their decisions.
This narrowing to 26 took place during two separate 5-hour sessions. Our first-round judges were Anthony Goicolea, Tribble & Mancenido, and JJ Sulin. JJ Sulin was not present for the second of these two sessions. After evaluating every submission, 39 entries were forwarded.
As our final-round judges (Arnold Lehman, Susan Bright, and Amy Stein) asked to be sent no more than 25 submissions, Anthony Goicolea and Tribble & Mancenido gave each of these 39 submissions a simple rating, on a scale of 0 to 10. Based on those ratings, the following submissions will be considered in the final round (with their combined rating in parentheses, although this number won’t matter in the final round).
